County Treasurer/Finance Department

 The County Treasurer/Finance Department is responsible for all aspects of financial management and reporting for Aroostook County Government in accordance with Title 30-A, generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), as well as the County Charter. 

General Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Management of accounts payable and all disbursements;
  • Payroll administration and all tax filings;
  • Deposit and management of all funds received;
  • Management of County grants;
  • Maintain fixed asset schedule and debt schedule;
  • Yearly budget development and reporting for all funds;
  • Collection of County taxes from Aroostook municipalities;
  • Prepare/Provides financial reports to County Commissioners;
  • Responsible for annual and single audits.
